Part of RePro Deck.
Most problems are fixed by reloading the RePro tab, or by making sure only one copy of the extension is switched on. This page maps each symptom to the fix. To install RePro Deck, see Setting Up RePro Deck (Chrome Extension and Stream Deck).
Check the extension first
Open a RePro channel in Chrome and click the RePro for Stream Deck toolbar button.
Look at the line under Extension settings:
Shortcuts active (v1.x.x) in green: the extension is working on this tab.
Reload this tab (⌘R) so RePro Deck can reach it. Press Cmd+R on the tab. A tab that was open before the extension was installed or updated needs this.
Open a RePro channel in this tab to add it to your deck. This tab is not a RePro channel.
This RePro tab is busy; waiting for it to answer… The tab is stuck, for example on a dialog. Close the dialog or reload the tab.
A key does nothing
Control keys send a keyboard shortcut, so Chrome with the RePro tab must be in front. Only channel keys work from other apps.
Press Cmd+R on the RePro tab, then try again.
Check that macOS has allowed Stream Deck to control your computer: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, with Stream Deck switched on.
If you changed a shortcut in the deck builder, send a new profile to Stream Deck. The keys on the deck keep sending the old shortcut until you do.
In the builder, look under Keyboard shortcuts for a warning beside the shortcut. Used by Chrome or macOS means pick another. A shortcut without Ctrl, Option or Cmd is ignored while you type in a text box.
A channel key says to leave the call first
A channel key never drops a call. To go to a channel in another project while you are in a chat call, leave the call first, then press the key. A channel in the same project is switched inside RePro when it can be, which keeps a call connected.
The CHAT key does not join the room
Press the key twice within 3 seconds.
In the deck builder, check the Chat room box holds the room's full name. If more than one room contains the text, the key refuses.
If your mic was left unmuted from an earlier call, the key refuses. Press Cmd+R on the RePro tab and try again.
Chat rooms must be available in your RePro project. See Audio Chat.
What the info bar is telling you
On a Stream Deck Neo, the info bar says what it cannot see rather than guess. Amber text and MIC ? mean the mic state is not known. It never shows muted when it is not sure.
The bar says | Why | What to do |
Waiting for RePro | Chrome is closed, no RePro tab has reported yet, or you have not clicked OK on the extension's notice. | Open a RePro channel in Chrome. Click the RePro for Stream Deck button and click OK on the notice if it is showing. |
Open a channel | A RePro tab is open, but not on a channel. | Open a channel. |
Reload this tab with MIC ? | The tab was open before the extension was updated or reloaded, so it can no longer report. | Press Cmd+R on that tab. |
No update · 20s with MIC ? | The tab has not reported for a while, so its mic state is not known. | Bring the tab to the front, or press Cmd+R on it. |
MIC ON NEXT with No call · reload | Your mic is unmuted but no call is open, so nothing is transmitting. The next call starts live. | Press Cmd+R on the RePro tab to reset it, as the bar says. |
Other extension | A second copy of the extension, such as one from an earlier kit, is switched on. | Switch the other copy off at |
Update RePro Deck | The extension and the plugin are out of step. | Update the extension (see below). If the bar stays amber, ask RePro for the latest plugin, install it, then quit and reopen Stream Deck. |
Too many tabs or Too many sources | More RePro tabs, or more Chrome profiles using RePro for Stream Deck, than the bar can follow. | Close some RePro tabs or Chrome profiles. If it stays, quit and reopen Stream Deck. |
Port 47821 busy | Something else on this Mac is using the port the plugin listens on. | Quit and reopen Stream Deck. If it stays, tell RePro (see below). |
The deck shows its old keys after Send to Stream Deck
Stream Deck adds each profile you send as a new one and does not always switch to it. Choose the newest profile from the profile list at the top of the Stream Deck app.
Get from Stream Deck cannot reach the plugin
Show a Stream Deck page that has the RePro for Stream Deck info bar. The plugin only answers while one is showing.
Check you have Stream Deck 7.6 or newer (Stream Deck → Preferences → About) and the RePro Deck plugin.
If it still fails, or your deck has no info bar, use Export in the Stream Deck app's profile menu and Load exported file… in the builder instead.
Updating RePro for Stream Deck
The extension updates through the Chrome Web Store. Chrome downloads a new version by itself, and nothing reloads until you say so.
Click the RePro for Stream Deck toolbar button. When an update is ready, it shows Update ready with the new version number and your current one.
Click Reload.
Press Cmd+R on every open RePro tab. They keep the old version until you reload them.
To look for an update straight away, click Check for updates in the popup. It says Checking…, then Downloading…, Up to date, Checked a moment ago or Could not check. The plugin only changes when you install a newer plugin file from RePro.
Moving from an older install
Earlier kits loaded the extension from /Users/Shared/RePro Deck. The Chrome Web Store copy is a different extension: its channel keys, and the deck builder's saved settings, are separate. Keep the old one until the new one works.
In the old copy's deck builder, click Export setup. Keep the file.
At
chrome://extensions, switch the old copy off. Do not remove it yet.Install the Chrome Web Store copy and click OK on its notice.
In its deck builder, click Import setup…, choose the file from step 1, then click OK.
Click Get from Stream Deck. It reads your current keys, so show a Stream Deck page that has the RePro for Stream Deck info bar first.
Click Send to Stream Deck, then pick the new profile in Stream Deck's profile list.
Test the keys and the info bar.
When it all works, remove the old copy at
chrome://extensionsand delete the old profile in Stream Deck. If the info bar stays amber, make sure only one copy is on, then quit and reopen Stream Deck.
If something still goes wrong
Tell RePro what you pressed and what happened, and send:
The extension version. Click the RePro for Stream Deck toolbar button. It shows Shortcuts active (v1.x.x …).
The Stream Deck version. Choose Stream Deck → About Stream Deck.
The newest file in the plugin's log folder. In Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder… and paste
~/Library/Application Support/com.elgato.StreamDeck/Plugins/com.reprostream.deck.sdPlugin/logs.
Uninstall everything
In Stream Deck, delete the RePro Deck profile from its profile list. Then quit Stream Deck, delete the folder
~/Library/Application Support/com.elgato.StreamDeck/Plugins/com.reprostream.deck.sdPlugin, and open Stream Deck again. In Chrome, right-click the RePro for Stream Deck toolbar button and choose Remove from Chrome. That deletes the extension's data on this Mac. Settings synced through Chrome Sync are managed by Chrome.
Delete the RePro Deck kit folder, and the profile and setup files the deck builder saved to your Downloads folder. If you used an old unpacked kit, also delete
/Users/Shared/RePro Deck.
Read what RePro Deck reads and where it goes in the RePro Deck privacy policy.
