Part of RePro Deck.
Each key on your Stream Deck sends a keyboard shortcut, so everything on this page also works from your keyboard. Set up RePro Deck first: see Setting Up RePro Deck (Chrome Extension and Stream Deck).
Control keys (fullscreen, layout, programs, chat and talk) need Chrome with the RePro tab in front. Channel keys are different: they work from any app.
Add a channel key
The easiest way to put a channel on your deck:
Open the channel in Chrome, in the RePro web viewer.
Click the RePro for Stream Deck button in Chrome's toolbar. The popup shows Channel on this tab with the channel's name and number.
If you like, change the key's label in the small box next to the button (up to four characters). RePro Deck suggests one from the channel name.
Click Add to my deck. The popup says Saved as key 1 and shows that key's shortcut. The button then reads Update key.
Put the new key on your Stream Deck: see Send your keys to Stream Deck below.
You can have up to 10 channel keys. If the channel is already on your deck, the popup says which key it is. If all 10 are used, remove one in the deck builder.
The deck builder
Click the RePro for Stream Deck button, then Open deck builder. (You can also right-click the button and choose Options.) The builder makes a Stream Deck profile for your model with your channels as keys, and you can change every shortcut. It has six parts.
1. Stream Deck
Choose your model (Neo, MK.2, XL, Mini or +) and give the profile a name.
2. Channel keys
Each row is one channel: the key's label, its name, and the project and channel numbers (they are in the channel's web address). Use Add channel to add a row. The + on a row puts another copy of that key on the next free spot.
3. Control keys
Fullscreen, Layout, Grid size, Program 1, Program 2, Previous program, Next program, Chat and Talk. Click + to put a key on the next free spot, or drag it onto the layout. In Chat room, type the name of the chat room the Chat key should join. Use the room's full name: if more than one room contains the text, the key refuses.
4. Keyboard shortcuts
The shortcut behind every key. See Keys and shortcuts below.
5. Layout
Drag keys to rearrange them. To move a key to another page, rest it on the arrows or on a page tab. Drop a key on a folder to put it inside, double-click a folder to open it, and drop a key on its Back key to take it out. Empty squares stay blank on the deck.
6. Download
Sends the profile to Stream Deck. See the next section.
Send your keys to Stream Deck
In the deck builder, click Send to Stream Deck. The first time, Chrome asks for permission to save and open the file. (Or click Download Stream Deck profile and double-click the file it saves.)
In the Stream Deck app, click Install.
Stream Deck adds each profile as a new one and may not switch to it. If the deck still shows its old keys, choose the newest profile from the profile list at the top of the Stream Deck app.
Profiles are built for Stream Deck on macOS.
If your deck and the builder are out of step
If you changed the keys in Stream Deck itself, click Get from Stream Deck in the builder to read them. The RePro Deck plugin only answers while a Stream Deck page with the RePro for Stream Deck info bar is showing. Or, in the Stream Deck app, open the profile menu, choose Export, then load that file in the builder with Load exported file…. Either way it replaces the builder's layout. Your channel keys, shortcuts and chat room stay.
Keys and shortcuts
Key | Default shortcut | What it does |
FULL | Ctrl+Option+F | Viewer fullscreen on or off. |
LAYOUT | Ctrl+Option+L | Switch between the switcher and the grid. |
GRID | Ctrl+Option+G | Grid size: 1x1 or auto. |
PREV | Ctrl+Option+[ | Previous program. Steps through every camera, one at a time: in the switcher it selects the program, in the grid it moves between 1x1 pages. |
NEXT | Ctrl+Option+] | Next program, the same way. |
PROG 1 and PROG 2 | Ctrl+Option+1 and Ctrl+Option+2 | Show program 1 or 2 (a page of a 1x1 grid). |
CHAT | Ctrl+Option+C | Press twice within 3 seconds to join the chat room set in the builder. You join muted. In a call, one press shows or hides the chat panel, and two presses within 3 seconds leave the call. |
TALK | Ctrl+Option+T | Hold to talk. A quick tap latches talk on; tap again to stop. Needs a call you have joined. |
Channel keys | Ctrl+Option+Shift+1 to 9, then 0 | Channel keys 1 to 10. |
Change a shortcut
In the deck builder, under Keyboard shortcuts, click the shortcut you want to change.
Press the new keys. Press Esc to cancel.
The change works in RePro straight away. To update the keys on your Stream Deck, send a new profile (see above).
Reset all to defaults puts them all back. The builder warns you about combinations that Chrome or macOS keep for themselves, and about shortcuts without Ctrl, Option or Cmd, which are ignored while you type in a text box.
Channel keys
Channel keys that have a project number work from any app, even with Chrome closed. Chrome comes forward on the RePro tab, switched to that channel inside RePro when it can, so a chat call stays connected.
A channel key never drops a call. If you are in a call and press a key for a channel in another project, RePro Deck tells you to leave the call first.
From the keyboard, use Ctrl+Option+Shift+1 to 9, then 0.
Chat and push to talk
Chat rooms are a RePro feature for your project (see Audio Chat). Set the room name in the builder, then press the CHAT key twice to join it. You join muted. Hold TALK to talk, or tap it once to latch talk on and tap again to stop.
RePro Deck never opens your microphone itself. It asks RePro's own chat to transmit while you hold the key, in a call you have already joined.
The info bar (Stream Deck Neo)
The kit's profile has RePro for Stream Deck on the info bar of every page. It shows the channel and program, and whether you are in a call, muted or talking. It turns red while your mic is live.
The bar says | It means |
Camera A · 2/3 Wide | The channel, then the program number, how many programs there are, and the program's name. |
SWITCHER or the number of programs | The viewer's layout: the switcher, or a grid. |
CALL MUTED (green) | You are in a chat call and your microphone is muted. |
TALKING (red bar) | You are holding or have latched talk. LATCHED shows when it is latched. |
MIC OPEN (red bar) | Your microphone is open in a call, but not by push to talk. |
MIC ? (amber) | RePro Deck cannot tell the state of your mic. It never shows muted when it is not sure. See RePro Deck Troubleshooting, Updates and Uninstalling. |
MIC ON NEXT (amber) | Your mic is unmuted but no call is open, so the next call you join starts live. |
If your profile has more than one page, a thin line under the text shows which page you are on. Only one copy of the extension should be switched on.
Move your setup to another Mac
In the deck builder, Export setup saves a file called RePro Deck setup.json with your channel keys, chat room and shortcuts (not the layout). On the other Mac, use Import setup… to load it. Import replaces what is there. Share the file only with people you trust.
