Setting Up RePro Deck (Chrome Extension and Stream Deck)

Install the RePro for Stream Deck Chrome extension and the Stream Deck plugin, then load your channel keys.

Part of RePro Deck.

RePro Deck lets you control the RePro web viewer from an Elgato Stream Deck or from your keyboard: switch channels, go fullscreen, change the layout, step through programs, join a chat room and push to talk. On a Stream Deck Neo, the info bar also shows what the viewer is doing.

It has two parts. The RePro for Stream Deck extension for Google Chrome works inside the RePro web viewer. The RePro Deck plugin for the Stream Deck app shows the viewer's status on a Neo's info bar. This page covers installing both on a Mac. See Using RePro Deck: Keys, Shortcuts and the Info Bar for day-to-day use, and RePro Deck Troubleshooting, Updates and Uninstalling if something does not work.

No Stream Deck? The extension alone still gives you keyboard shortcuts on the RePro tab. Do steps 3 to 5 below, then add your channels as described in Using RePro Deck.

How to get RePro Deck

What you need

  • A RePro account. The extension works only on app.reprostream.com and does nothing on other sites.

  • A Mac with macOS 13 or newer, and Google Chrome installed in /Applications.

  • For a deck: an Elgato Stream Deck with the Stream Deck app, version 7.6 or newer. To check, choose Stream Deck → Preferences → About. If it is older, update it first.

  • For the info bar: a Stream Deck Neo.

  • Internet access the first time the plugin starts.

  • The RePro Deck kit (see How to get RePro Deck, above).

What is in the kit

File

What it is

Install RePro Deck.command

The installer.

RePro Deck.streamDeckProfile

The Stream Deck profile (the keys).

com.reprostream.deck.streamDeckPlugin

The RePro Deck plugin: live status on a Stream Deck Neo's info bar.

RePro Deck setup.json

Your deck's channels, chat room and shortcuts, for Import setup (step 6).

The Chrome extension is not in the kit. You add it from the Chrome Web Store (step 3).

Install

  1. Double-click Install RePro Deck.command. It opens the plugin and the profile in Stream Deck, then prints these steps again.

If macOS will not open it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (macOS 15 and newer). On older macOS, right-click the file and choose Open. Or, in Terminal, run bash "Install RePro Deck.command".

  2. In Stream Deck, click Install for the plugin and again for the profile.

If macOS asks whether Stream Deck may control this computer, allow it: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, then switch Stream Deck on.

  3. In Chrome, open the RePro for Stream Deck page in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome.

  4. Click the RePro for Stream Deck button in Chrome's toolbar (the puzzle piece, if it is hidden). It shows a notice saying what the extension reads and where it goes. Click OK.

  5. In that window, click Open deck builder.

  6. In the deck builder, click Import setup…, choose RePro Deck setup.json from the kit folder, then click OK. Your channels, chat room and shortcuts appear. The profile's channel keys work as they are.

  7. Press Cmd+R on every open RePro tab, then press a channel key to test.

If the installer will not run, double-click com.reprostream.deck.streamDeckPlugin and then RePro Deck.streamDeckProfile in the kit folder instead, and click Install for each in Stream Deck.

What you should see

  • Stream Deck has a RePro Deck profile. If your deck still shows its old keys, choose the new profile from the profile list at the top of the Stream Deck app.

  • On a RePro channel, the RePro for Stream Deck toolbar button shows a green Shortcuts active with the version number (for example v1.12.0) and the channel's name. On any other tab it tells you to open a RePro channel.

  • Pressing a channel key brings Chrome forward on that channel.

  • On a Stream Deck Neo, the info bar shows the channel and program while a RePro tab is open on a channel.

If you used an earlier RePro Deck kit

Earlier kits loaded the extension from a folder on your Mac. The Chrome Web Store copy is a different extension, so its channel keys and saved settings are separate. Keep the old one until the new one works. The steps for moving over are in RePro Deck Troubleshooting, Updates and Uninstalling.

Privacy

The notice in step 4 says what RePro Deck reads: the channel, program and chat call state of your RePro tabs. It sends that state only to the RePro Deck plugin on your Mac, to show on your Stream Deck. Nothing is sent to RePro Stream or anyone else, and it does not keep or send chat messages or audio. Until you click OK, it sends nothing to the plugin. Your channel keys, chat room and shortcuts are saved with your Chrome profile and sync through Chrome Sync if you use it.
