This guide is aimed at Project Admins and Project Managers but is for Organisation Admins as well.
Organisation Admins have extra Organisation-based permissions shown below:
Action | Organisation Admin |
Create, edit, delete Projects | ✅ |
Invite, edit, remove Organisation Users | ✅ |
All other Project management – mirror Project Admin roles as shown below | ✅ |
Remember – for viewing content – even Organisation Admins will need adding to a Project and assigned to a Group. The Group will need to have a Channel assigned and that Channel will need to have a Program assigned to it. As an Organisation Admin they are able to do this themselves.

*Disable lower grade – the ability to disable access to the project using the enable/disable toggle – Users can only do this to grades below their own: a Project Manager can disable Standard Members, and a Project Admin can disable Project Managers and Standard Members.
**Removing a Project Admin from a Project can only be done by an Organisation Admin. A Project Admin cannot remove another Project Admin, in the same way that they cannot promote one.
Removing someone from a Project is not the same as removing them from the Organisation. The table above covers Project membership. Removing a User from the Organisation entirely is an Organisation Admin action, and removes them from every Project in it.
Check Group membership when you remove someone. Removing a User from a Project removes their Project membership and any Groups they were assigned to inside it. If they also belong to an Organisation-level Group that grants access to that Project, that access continues. To remove someone’s access completely, remove them from the Project and from any Organisation-level Group that reaches it.
Only Organisation Admins can promote or set a User as a Project Admin. If you are a Project Admin and wish to add or promote another Project Admin then please contact your Organisation Admin to promote them once they are added.
The nominated Project owner cannot be removed from the Project by anyone.
